Definition of Virtual Assistant

A Virtual Assistant is an independent contractor who offers services to clients. They work from a remote location. Typical services offered are general tasks such as email management, calendar management, personal tasks, travel arrangements, or data entry. Some virtual assistants specialize in graphic design, email marketing, copywriting, social media management, and website development to name a few.

Benefits of a Virtual Assistant

There are many advantages to hiring a virtual assistant over an in-person assistant.

First, you can hire a VA under a contract for specific tasks that you need completed. Hiring a regular assistant could cost you more when you have to pay them for a certain number of hours per day.

Next, you are able to delegate tasks to a VA that are time-consuming. You need your time to do things that help move the needle in your business.

Last, it can be more cost-effective. With an in-person assistant, you have to provide the space for them to work. They will need the tech and equipment to work provided as well. A VA will already have a dedicated space for working. They will already be set up to complete tasks efficiently.
